Kimpton Santo Hotel

Kimpton Santo Hotel

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS

Located between downtown San Antonio and Southtown, Kimpton Santo brings a contemporary 10-story hotel together with an 1858 German- English schoolhouse. The restored schoolhouse now houses eight guest suites, a cocktail bar, and Dean’s Steak & Seafood, giving the historic building a new role as a place to gather.

Black Beauty thin brick in American Imperial size defines the hotel’s exterior entrance façade with deep charcoal color and a long, slender profile. The same thin brick continues into the lobby, connecting the arrival experience outside with the interior spaces guests use throughout their stay. Its texture adds depth to the modern design while complementing the property’s historic character.

Kimpton Santo’s reuse of the schoolhouse earned the hotel the Power of Preservation Foundation’s Preservation Project of the Year award.
